Old bones of departed souls

Sleep

By grey stones steeped in hope,

Cradled

By the understanding touch of an ancient life.

The yew tree in Norbury churchyard, Shropshire, is 2700 years old. It is one of England’s ten oldest yew trees. The church is modern in comparison— it has only been here since the 14th century.
